A day in the life

I just came home from one of the most powerful theatreperormances I've ever seen I think. "After the silence" is a play about two sisters, their bond to the country they were born and the relation to their father who was murdered because he wanted justice. Over 4 million people were brought to Brazil to be used as slaves, their descendants are still struggling for their right to live and to own land. I won't even try to explain the play, it changes seamlessly between fiction and reality, film, music and an extremely physical performance. Four young Brazilian actors, three women and one male, all descendants to the slaves, gave us all a very strong experience. There was no way I would have taken a photo during the play, the blip is from the house "Byteatern", where it was played.

All morning was devoted to cleaning up after the storm we had a couple of days ago, a small ash-tree had fallen towards my neighbours hose and smashed a couple of roof-tiles and bent one of the drains. Luckily it was a very small tree and nothing and no one was hurt. Me and the landlord removed the bigger tree growing next to the one that fell, he didn't want to risk anything. The fallen tree had damaged roots from the Ash-disease and the re is a risk that the bigger tree had the same illness. My landlord was handling the chainsaw and I had fastened a rope high up the tree to pull it in the right direction. We managed to make it miss the house and now it's all chopped up in little peaces waiting to be chopped into firewood for coming winters. Rather exciting, but all ended well.
