Maggie's Bad Day

No, Maggie was not bad...It was her day that was bad.

Today was Cleaner Day when Sherri comes to disturb Maggie's day; so, as usual, Maggie was constantly on the move, primarily, to escape the vacuum.

Maggie does not like the sound of a vacuum, which is, of course, my main reason for not vacuuming :))  She slinks away as soon as she hears it come on and scurries up the stairs to hide in my bedroom; that is, until the vacuum also comes upstairs, when she then races back down to the living room to curl up in the safety of her favourite chair, awaiting her next move - which would be when Sherri returns to the kitchen and starts mopping the floors. Maggie doesn't like mops either...so off she goes again...up the stairs... where she will stay until Sherri leaves.

I had some errands to do so was out of the house for most of the time and when I returned there she was - half way up or half way down the stairs..I am not sure, but she seemed to be waiting.... trying to determine where Sherri was and which way she had to go next..up or down? Life for Maggie on alternate Fridays is a challenge...and her expression said it all..I could not resist a photo.

Meanwhile, it rained all day so working outdoors on the Christmas urns was not an option, but I did make some progress on decorating the tree. I finished hanging all the baubles in box #1. The tree ornaments are stored in boxes in the order they come off the tree, so it makes it easier to put them back on (not rocket science) so Box #1 is the "underpainting" layer - all the plain, round, shiny baubles that go inside the tree, working out from the trunk along the branches..not much fun at all.... but they do help reflect light and fill up empty spaces, so worth it in the end. It felt good to have that over with.

Tomorrow I will start on the main layer and hopefully finish the last one too - the chandelier glass drops, pearl garland and topper. Finis! At last! That will feel really good!
