‘Book’ group

An early haircut, with the walk down to town and home again in absolutely bucketing rain, then drove to MK. Apart from picking up a coffee before I got to the A1 I didn’t stop, just listened to my new book Out of Love by Hazel Hayes all the way which I enjoyed (maybe not the right word…it’s very sad, but well written).
Lots of rain and a few traffic delays but arrived at K’s at 5.30, where I found her all ready for the evening and very little prep left to do! We had a cup of tea and a chat then got changed and ready for the others arriving. We were a little depleted as DF had a Covid suffering husband and S had had a puncture on the way here and a long wait for the repair before returning home… very frustrating for her and a shame to miss the evening.
As always no book to be discussed but non stop chat about a bizarre mix of things and everyone seemed on excellent t form, and we enjoyed our secret Santa gifts and the various little extras K had made, put on our paper hats and groaned at the jokes in the crackers.
A late night…we didn’t get to bed til after midnight
