The Sleeper

After 18 hours of flying, the girl got to London too late to take a flight home. So she did the next best thing, she took the Caledonian Sleeper and arrived at 7.30 am.

I swept her up, fed her, and put her to bed for a few hours. Home, it's lovely to think that very soon her home will be local. However, for just a few weeks more, this is home. Home, where she has always called Home. Her room, her clothes, her artwork, her books.

She has had the very best of adventures and has spent some real quality time with her brother. It's not something your children get the chance to do as adults. I'm very proud of her solo adventures. She's one fabulous person.

Is now the time to say I'm excited to change her room into a spare bedroom? Ah, but it will always remain her room.
