Another day through the window

Today's view of the valley is very different from Saturday's. I could still see the top of the downs, but only through a blur of swirling snow, not the kind of big, fluffy flakes which would soften and whiten the landscape but tiny, icy drops somewhere between snow and hailstones. A series of heavy flurries continued throughout the morning, never really settling but whitening vegetation for a while and coating J's Velux windows. It's been cold all day, barely above zero, and quite windy, so the house has felt chilly though we've probably spent a small fortune on heating. We were safe and dry though, undisturbed by power cuts or floods, and we didn't have to go anywhere, so really have nothing to complain about. Tomorrow will be cold, with a forecast high of one Celcius, but should be dry and bright. I may even fit in a walk.

Thank you for all the kind messages, hearts (undeserved!) and stars for yesterday's end of year 3 blip. It's too late to respond tonight, but I will (as usual) try to catch up soon.
