Still Life With More Useful Objects (Mon 29th Jan)

Have mostly been recuperating from a brief bout of norovirus last week which left me very sleepy afterwards, but I have got a lot of radio, reading and record listening done, plus some TV. After my recent drawer of useful objects blip I have kept seeing more possible contenders, so I have just put together a second set in a larger drawer, and there are plenty of items left over to do more.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Unthanks - What Can A Song Do To You? (2017)
Having finished a re-read of Uncut from July 2017 I played again the cover disc CD, Run Like Hell, a look at "the month's best music". It included this song from Diversions Vol 4: The Songs And Poems Of Molly Drake by the Unthanks. Molly Drake was the mother of the late Nick Drake and was a poet and songwriter herself, though not in public. She was recorded at home by her husband on an open-reel tape recorder and some of these works have appeared posthumously. Her daughter the actress Gabrielle Drake appears at the end of this song and recites the poem Lost Grief, written between 1935 and 1969.
