Calne Changes (Friday 9th February 2024)

The changes that began at the end of January when Martin's closed down to be converted into a new Morrisons were finished on time and today marked its first opening in its new form. I didn't get inside today but will soon. I wonder if they will sell their wheat, spelt and rye bread that up till now I've had to drive to Devizes or Chippenham to obtain?

In other news, Calne is to get its third Post Office branch inside a store when the Spar in James Avenue opens one shortly that will be open seven days a week.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Selecter - Missing Words (recorded live, 28 February 1980, Dacorum Pavilion, Hemel Hempstead)
I've been continuing to much enjoy this new 3CD set of their debut album, Too Much Pressure. The second disc contains Peel sessions, singles and other rarities, while the third disc is live, with performances from Tiffanys in home town Coventry and here. Missing Words had been on their first album but is here previewed in a new arrangement, concocted with their producer Roger Lomas, that was about to appear on their newly remixed single in March 1980.
