A time for everything

A good birding walk

Thursday
It was a cold start, but with clear sunny skies. The morning saw us at home, waiting for the temperature to rise, Roger working on some state tax issues, and me doing my Duolingo and on my iPad. Then in the afternoon we drove over to Long Branch trails, and headed first to see if the herons had come back yet. We saw three on their nests, against the bright blue sky, but hopefully there will be more to come - last year there were about 10 or 11 nests occupied. On the way there, we saw a couple of eastern Bluebirds, which stayed still long enough for me to get a shot.
In the evening it was handbell and choir practice. Some of our current handbell music is quite tricky in places, so really took some concentration. Unfortunately we shan’t be there the next time they play in service, but one of the pieces we were practicing is for the weekend after we get back from our trip.
