A day out

A day out with a couple of the Photo Society members. There were 3 of us and since 2 of us drive trucks and 1 drives an SUV, it meant she got elected to drive. It's nice being a passenger sometimes. We were headed to a photo exhibit at the DesBrisay Museum in Bridgewater. It opened at 1 pm and we left Dartmouth at 8:30 am, so we had lots of time to stop and take photos. We stopped in Mahone Bay for some photos, then took a couple of back roads to get to Lunenburg. I took them to a spot up on the hill at the edge of the golf course, where this photo was taken. It was the first time S and F had been at that spot. Then we walked around the downtown section for a half hour.
Driving toward Bridgewater, we stopped at Miller Point Peace Park for a walk. F had thought that would be a good place for a picnic lunch, but he has only been there in the summer and didn't realize that the gate was closed. You could walk in, but not drive. It was also cloudy and cool, so not a nice day for a picnic. We decided to stop at a restaurant for lunch. Then over to the photo exhibit and a walk round the museum.
As we left the museum, we discussed where else we could stop. I suggested the Wile Carding Mill to see the waterfall. S had heard about it, but never been there, so I gave her directions. Then we took another detour, so I could show them a couple of good spots for fall colors. We talked about taking the old road back to the city, or we could take the highway and then go out to Peggy's Cove. Peggy's Cove won. We didn't spend a lot of time there, the lighting was not good and some snow flurries had started to move in.
I left my place at 8:15 am and returned home at 5:15.
Rain in the forecast starting tonight and ending tomorrow morning. Then there is rain and showers in the forecast for the next 7 days.
