Snakes Head

Fritillaries.

I thought of blipping this yesterday as they had all started to appear in the garden whilst we were away but went with the Narcissus as it was new.
This one was the furthest open this morning, our main clump by the green house is growing each year and there are a few others scattered around the garden.
After a damp start it brightened up enough for me to risk putting the washing out. It felt warm and I stayed out to do a bit of gardening wearing  just a sweater. I knew more rain was forecast but thought I’d have enough notice to bring the washing in.
Chris suggested we went to Saltaire to take some of our books which we usually save up for gusts to Oxfam in Ilkley. Tge Children's Society has a book shop on Gordon Terrace. She said she would  take all kinds of books. We’ll be back with some of our non fiction that I’m sitting out.  Spotted a nearly new Peter James on the way out so a purchase was made too.
(A last year’s edition so there will be quite a lot to catch up on on in between but too good a bargain to miss.)
We went for a coffee before returning home. This terrace on the main road above the UNESCO World Heritage Village of Saltaire has lots of cafes and eateries plus some interesting shops. I used to come to the hairdressers here and the parking and level of heavy traffic is terrible, it does make me wonder how the shops keep going.

Home just as the clouds became ominous so got the washing in before the rain arrived. It wasn’t long lived and it is sunny again now and the fresh outdoor smelling washing in airing.
