Belle Epoque

We have just arrived home and of course it is raining. We’ve had high winds and sun but very little rain in the South West and it’s been nice to feel some warmth.

I took the first picture of the lovely tulip ‘Belle Epoque’ when we arrived at Grace’s house in Bath, I loved it’s form and shadow against the Bath stone wall behind. The blooms are very blousy when they open and the second shot was taken this morning fully open. Still very beautiful despite the ravages of Storm Kathleen’s wind.

A laid back morning, Grace was in late and John went for a run. The girls played happily together and we got them dressed and breakfasted. When John got back he made pancakes and banana milkshakes.
P from next door popped around in her full Elsa Regalia, including shoes and gloves, just in time to join in the feast. She is 5 today so we joked that this was her party, she stayed till lunchtime, leaving behind an earring. She came back in search of her crown but we couldn’t find that!

After a roast chicken lunch we got ready to leave but Eda presented each of us with a ticket with our initial on. This was for us to watch a dance show in Jude’s bedroom. They were both very well choreographed to music on Eda’s YOTO. Chris and I got seats on the bed and Mummy and Daddy had to stand in the doorway.
I think she’s definitely going to be taking after mummy and Jude is quite a natural dancer already.
Next time we are down, in about 6 weeks time,  we will be going to the same theatre as last night to see Eda and her stage group’s production of Matilda.

Looking forward to it already.

Eda was a bit upset when we left as I’d said we were staying for the whole of Easter. She has another weeks holiday from school and she assumed we'd be there for that too!
