Slept pretty well and once up set and chatted to A before driving up to Tawse Tyres. As expected, nothing wrong with tyres. They were checked and reset for free. Then into Tesco to buy a present for S's new granddaughter, Georgia. She was born in the Mattie but spent one night in the new maternity facility in Inverurie. #2 and #3 were born in the one that closed in 1988 and was demolished. Good to see local facilities restored, even if staff shortages mean limited transfers from the Mattie. I can't out to hailstones!

Once A was back from the vet we went off into rural Aberdeenshire to Rhynie to drop I'd books at the Books Abroad charity. We got a conducted tour of the warehouse facility. An amazing charity, run by volunteers, that sends out books, mainly to schools in I've 100 countries.

On the way back stopped in Oyne to photograph the failed archaeology centre for #3 son. It's the turf covered mound behind the stone beating under Bennachie. Built there to benefit from EU funding but never really worked. Location, location, location.

Then lunch and a rest in front of day time TV before a lift up to Edwards for a catch up with S. She was our 'nanny' for 5 years

Then to Brandsbutt to catch up with the gang to celebrate K and D's Golden Wedding. We started there and ate at the reopened Strathburn Hotel, the worst meal ever. Y has negotiated a 30% discount. But the company was good and so glad K could come for the first time since J died.

And then to bed. A packed day.
