Grumpy Old Man

Top of the ladder

Still dry today - I had to get the hose out to water all my potted plants for the first time this year! Some sunshine too - we three walked down town this morning to buy a paper and get some exercise! In a garden near the top of Jacob's Ladder was this lovely display of tulips. The owner, who was outside, couldn't remember which variety they are, but thanks to Google Lens I found that they were 'Gavota'. I must tell her next time I'm passing!

Coming back, we walked up Jacob's Ladder - the view for the tourists who use the route to McCaig's Tower was less inviting - see extra.

Sat outside in the sun for a while after lunch until it clouded over. More potted plant work and sowing of runner beans and peas in pots. These will go outside at Glencruitten Walled Garden, our last season before we're chucked out!

Quote of the Day: '“The tulip is the loveliest of all flowers. So whoever despised the tulip offends God immeasurably.” - Alexandre Dumas.
