Sally Mair - Loving life

Babadag

Today we decided to avoid the sun so far as possible. We took the cable car to the top of Babadag, the mountain behind OluDeniz which is over 1800m. It's where in 2019 I paraglided from the top. See here:

Today we took the cable car to the restaurant at 1200m, to put that into perspective, Ben Nevis is 1345m high, but in this case the view is of the full height down to sea level whereas Ben Nevis is surrounded by foothills. There is an outdoor terrace around 3 sides of the restaurant.
The bottom left spot of the collage shows a view down from the cable car on the way up. It started from the light coloured building towards the top centre of picture. The larger view is of the Blue Lagoon, it's where many of the tourist holiday shots for Turkey are taken, we often go to the beach there.
We spotted the lizard about 50ft below us while sitting in the restaurant. It looked a little odd then we realised that she was carrying a baby lizard on her back. They got to the tip of the rock and the baby started to explore, in the smaller picture it is by its mother's head. 8n the larger, it is following her across the rock. The larger lizard is around 8-10 inches. We watched them for a good 10-15 minutes, quite fascinating.
The other shot is of some mulberries near to the hotel. The weather continues to be around 25-27 degrees during the day. The evenings are colder and I'm glad I've brought a cardigan and scarf for sitting around. We've been told rain is threatened for tomorrow. Don't remember ordering that!
