Numata Longwing

Only one week to go until we open the butterfly house for the start of the season. We had a lot of volunteers in today and things are coming along nicely.  Windows cleaned, garden tidied, plants flowering and the emergence of our first butterflies.

This one, the Numata Longwing, is a brush-footed butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae, subfamily Heliconiinae and is from South America.
