Now, as I see it......

Wengen

A bit wet today but not as bad as we expected from the forecast.  We got the train to Lauterbrunnen which is at the foot of the world's deepest u-shaped valley and from there caught the cog railway up to Wengen.  The photo shows Lauterbrunnen taken from Wengen; while down there we walked up to the Staubbach Falls, the waterfall to the right of the shot, which is Switzerland's highest free-falling waterfall.  It was possible to walk up a steep path to view the waterfall from behind, and I've added an extra showing the view from there and another view of the falls.

Wengen was lovely but very quiet.  It is car free so the only vehicles around were hotel courtesy vans and construction vehicles, which gave the place a slight feel of 'The Prisoner', for those who remember the 1960's TV series.  Great views from the top though, and interesting to watch construction materials being brought up by helicopter.
