Facing the Music

#2's birthday today. He fell out just after midnight 38 years ago.  As usual I was awake not much after that but went back to sleep before swimming, listening to Emma Barnett skewer Jeremy Hunt in 'Today', ironing, making some calls (Inc confirmation the top of the tree is deid), returning a parcel, light shopping and then meeting #3 for lunch at Dine. It started to rain as we looked out the window and things could only get worse.

A couple of hours of playwriting with Zinnie (she liked my 4th beat) and then a bus up the road. Sat in the café, a bit soggy, and watched the PM announce the General Election as he also got soggy. Oh the deliciousness of Things Can Only Get Better drowning out his words. And of course Scotland is on holiday on 4 July.

Finally over the road for a bit of hanging around, a bit of a practice and then the main event, the Concert, which apart from one hiatus, went well.

It was nearly 10 when I got home, in time to catch up with the News and a bit of Newsnight. Willow cuddled up on my lap.

Still raining and cold outside. When will it end?
