Learning Day

I woke ok but couldn't get there energy to go to the pool so stayed abed till after 8.

That was a learning day. Georgian Scotland was about the Jacobites. Fascinating stuff and I keep thinking of modern day parallels.

Came home for lunch outside, warm as long as you were out of the wind. The brown bin was empty but in just over an hour I refilled ii. First with the old stuff behind the shed then pruned 3 of the back border and destroyed some high growing clematis. Now in a vase.

After that I walked halfway to the Bioquarter till my referred pain got too much so I stood in the sun and waited for a #18 to RIE. Lovely view across the hospital to Arthur's Seat.

I was off to the U of E General Council Showcase on the work of the Usher Institute. It was fascinating glimpse into the research and data work they are doing in public health, which touches on so much of life. Especially interesting was there section on the location of PADs, public access defibrillators. The example map showed my street!
Unfortunately my phone decided to go into alert mode during the next speaker. Took ages to get it switched off. I'll have to work out why.

After there was a buffet with wine. There were a lot of medics and vets there, it being organised by the College of Medical and Vetinary Science. Luckily M from Lyceum (ex SG Dentist) was there so I had someone to chat to.

It was still blue skies and sun when I left after 8 and got the #7 home. Willow now visited up in my knee but it will soon be bedtime.
