World Turtle and Tortoise Day celebrations

Today,  Peter celebrated World  Turtle and Tortoise day by breakfasting on  the first few wild strawberries from the garden and, of course, a few PYO buttercup flowers. 
In the evening, Martin and I joined members of Winchester GoLD for a walk around our local Winnall Moors nature reserve. We had  been loaned a bat detector but the days are now so long  the walk had finished ( at 9pm ) before any bats emerged!  However, the group enjoyed seeing ducks and ducklings, and hearing the  Cetti's warblers and  wrens, as well as the opportunity to socialise. Fortunately, the weather was perfect, and it was  a lovely evening.
