The lost is found

There must be a story for a sermon in here somewhere. Regular subscribers know that the scarecrow outside the Methodist Church in Haltwhistle disappeared the day after he was given pride of place on the church steps. The call was out to find him, especially since he represented Les, the retiring minister and the fish in the net were made by children.

No one could tell me where he was found, but Les is back in place today, ready for Haltwhistle Carnival tomorrow. You will see that he has a small lamb precariously jammed under one arm and that he is keen to catch a lot of fish.

Those of you who have worried about him can now rest!!

Arth had his long awaited MRI scan this morning in Newcastle. All very straightforward so we just wait for the result. Then to visit a neighbour who is in the same hospital with a fractured femur. (Fracture is between knee and hip replacements so will take some time to heal.)

Then to Haltwhistle to a BBQ put on at the last minute by Maureen and Brian. The 7 of us were the old committee for the walking festival plus 1. We've had a lovely relaxing afternoon enjoying the sunshine, the chatter and the good food.
