The Darling Buds of Winter

I've had my eye on my purple Tibouchia tree for a few weeks now, watching as the new growth has been taking place when all self-respecting trees should be in hibernation.

Hey Tibouchia...it's winter, you shouldn't be growing, don't you know?

Perhaps we are in the midst of a mild winter this year, as one of my frangipani tree, which gets a lot of sun on it throughout the middle of the day, is also budding.

We still have around six weeks of official "winter" to go, so I will live in hope that the temperatures may plummet.

But don't hold your breath waiting for me to announce it has happened!
