Body Attack this morning - in a sweltering hot studio - followed by a shower in a sweltering hot changing room. Unimpressed. Got to work a little red in the face, but had a good day getting stuff done in the office. I managed to slip away a bit early and found M was already home when I got there, so we decided to take Mum and Dad to the putting greens just by the house for a match. Unsurprisingly, M won - the green is opposite his parents' house so he has been playing for years - he had all the local knowledge!

After our game, M drove us all out to Stonehaven for fish and chips from The Carron, which we ate sitting on a bench by the harbour. So lovely... A perfect summer evening. We walked to the end of the pier and watched the sailing dinghies for a bit - some of them looked so precarious and one looked suspiciously like a bathtub with a large flag on it. At one point the woman had to start bailing out water and it really looked like she was going in! Luckily she was on her way back to shore anyway.

We stopped off at the shop for some vino on the way home, and M's Mum and Dad came round for a drink and a chatter with my Mum and Dad. Spoke about lots of stuff, including our move to Norway next summer. We seem to talk about that a lot at the moment - family and friends are all really intrigued.

We didn't manage to stay up late; the combination of sea air, fish and chips and a few glasses of wine had us all in bed by eleven. Mum and Dad are setting off back to Yorkshire tomorrow - we've really enjoyed having them as usual.
