Easter dawns

I didn’t have faith in the village shop being open today so walked the dog up in woods and dropped down by car later.  Oh little faith.  It’s such a hardworking shop run but a dedicated team with a good post office.  The post office have stopped them taking Evri parcels because people weren’t ‘choosing’ it only using it as a channel for returns and Vinted etc.  But it was bringing lots of business into the shop and now to use Evri we’ll have to drive into Petersfield.  There’s a lot of support for then trying to get it reinstated, there’s even talk of a petition.

I like this Easter window from the school.

Quiet morning prepping for Mum and her carer coming for Easter lunch, using the time to clear away those things that have taken root in odd corners.  I cooked lunch, asparagus with incredibly simple hollandaise sauce from a lovely online recipe, roast salmon and remains of the rhubarb compote with ice cream.

Mum, Patty walked a few hundred yards up the lane and we had fun identifying bird songs with the Merlin app and looking out for swallows.

Did some garden pottering once they’d gone and finished off The Leopard in the evening.
