Exploring
It rained overnight, and was dull when I went out with Django to begin exploring the area near our cottage. We soon passed the big house above our cottage. It's called Plas Penrhyn, and it was here that Bertrand Russell spent the last 15 years of his life. Not only does it have this beautiful wisteria, but the clematis on the other end of the house is also in flower. I made a tour of the higher ground, and got myself to the top of the cliffs above the railway works, so had a birds eye view of what was going on.
Back in the cottage, we relaxed for a while as the weather got worse. It then improved, so we decided to walk across the causeway (known as The Cob) over to Porthmadog. There we had lunch outside at the station, enjoying watching the various train and locomotive movements (see extra). We walked on into the town, but then the drizzle started, so we stocked up on a few groceries and walked back across the Cob. The weather had improved again by then, so we reversed much of the walk I'd done in the morning. We'll eat here this evening, and expect that tomorrow will bring weather to allow us to walk further.
