Wildflower Day
What a lovely Mother's Day! I went on a hike at my favorite Tualatin Hills Nature Center this morning...well, at least until it started pouring rain! There were a lot of wildflowers to be seen. In the main Western Trumpet Honeysuckle - Lonicera ciliosa - which is winding its way through shrubs near the entrance of the park. I also saw what I believe is Thimble Berry - Rubus parviflorus - in the extra. And finally, large patches of native Lupines. We have several native lupines here in western Oregon, but I'm thinking that this is Lupinus rivularis - Riverbank Lupine - because of the environment it was growing in...right next to Beaverton Creek in the middle of the park (also in the extras).
My son came over midday to make lunch/brunch. The grandkids are with their mom today, so Justin and I had a lovely catch up. He often makes me Eggs Benedict for Mother's Day, but today he was hankering for a BLT (Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich) so he combined the two and made a BLT Eggs Benedict, complete with Hollandaise sauce and bacon (on a gluten free English Muffin). YUM!! (Also in the extras!)
Many thanks to Miranda for continuing to host Wildflower Week!
