Had an opportunity for a shot of the building; decided to keep the bus since they are part of the city at this time of year. The bronze statue is George IV, sculptor Francis Leggat Chantry.

Went to the Christian Aid booksale, on all week at the New Town Church, found some old books. Talked to the person running Specials; he was from Washington, DC ...

Walked later to Inverleith, when there was a little more patchy sunshine. 14C and an East wind, so not nearly so much like summer as the weekend we just had. There's one very new cygnet still on the nest, and one more egg. No sign of coot chicks, though there was a heron in the  reeds quite close to the swan nest.

Also confirmed sightings of swifts behind our building; first one was two days ago and there were more in the evening.
