The mist is rising
off the rivers...the pond is
expanding with melt
~carliewired
I rise again! I was pushing the bins out to the street before 6:30, then caught the mist over the rivers rising up as the atmosphere warms. It makes my mountains look something like islands.
Then, I was off to Tranquille hoping to find some big horn sheep, but I was disappointed. I sized up the wetlands pond which is growing as the river rises. The waterfowl move in to enjoy their expanded territory,
As I drove up to the osprey nest there were no birds to be seen. As I turned my car around, the one osprey landed below the nest and gazed out to the morning sun. I got my one shot then just before it flew off to the roof of an abandoned building. The nest must be quite deep as I can't see a head above its edges. One must be sitting while the other is hunting. Spring is a hectic time even for birds.
I managed to have breakfast and I even enjoyed it, so I am on the mend. My daughter and I are heading off on a road trip tomorrow, so my timing is perfect.
