There's mist, there's rain, there's
puddles to be avoided....
there's a change of scene

We enjoyed a lovely dinner with my brother last evening, then we were in for an early night. That gave me a 6 o'clock start this morning. We had a leisurely breakfast, then were on the highway just after 9.
With some good luck, we rolled on to the 10 AM ferry bound for Victoria without a wait. That put us into Victoria for lunch hour and too early to check in to our hotel. We gave ourselves a driving tour around the downtown, Beacon Hill Park and the Dallas Road area along the ocean.
At 3, we found a restaurant for tea around the corner where we would check in. Our hotel, the Huntingdon, sits near the inner harbour and close to restaurants, tourist attractions and shopping. We checked into our 2nd floor room, then walked to a restaurant for dinner just a block and a half away. We stopped to have a look at the Friendship Bell in Centennial Park. It marks the 30th anniversary of the twin cities of Victoria, BC and Morioka, Japan in 2015. The park is home to enormous rhododendrons now flowering in abundance.
We have an underground parking space under the hotel for the car. It may well just sit while we're here. Light rain has continued throughout the day, but it's not enough to deter our activities. As long as I don't overdo, my feet should last for a few outings.
