No blue sky or sun

We were up and having breakfast in our hotel by 7:30. Then we decided we'd head off to Fisgard Lighthouse for some photos. We like to wander our way around Victoria as it is such a pretty place. The rain is scattered and rather light, so we don't feel overwhelmed by it.
Fort Rod Hill and the Fisgard Lighthouse are heritage sites so they don't open to the public until 10. We waited at the gate for the person with the keys to came to open it. Once inside, we chatted with staff, had a brief look at the battery and ambled down to the beach to find the lighthouse. It is close to the Victoria harbour so military vessels and a cruise ship could be spotted. I really over did the walk there, so that's it for the day.
We enjoyed the wildlife. Deer and birds were visitors today, too.
We found our way back to the old downtown and China town. (Victoria's Chinatown is the oldest in Canada.) We parked on Fisgard Street for the pastry shop, La Roux. My daughter and I shared a pot of tea and each had a treat. Then we parted. She wants to go shopping and I need to get off my feet. I drove back to the hotel and parked the car. It will be nap time soon.
We are looking forward to having dinner with a friend of my daughter this evening.
