A time for everything

Friday
We took Jen to our favourite breakfast place this morning, and fortunately didn’t have to wait very long. We each had something different, and all enjoyed what we had. We had storms promised for today, particularly in the evening, and by the time we came out from breakfast, the clouds were looking rather threatening. So rather than risking going for a walk, we returned home, and had another coffee, and played a game of scrabble. Jen left us early afternoon, to drive to Hocking Hills and meet up with Laura and her friends and future sister in law, for Laura’s bachelorette weekend. By this time, the skies had cleared, so we went for a walk at Rowe Woods. However, for some reason we were both lacking energy, so didn’t make it a very long walk, and in any case, we didn’t have too much time, since we were going to a May Festival concert, Verdi’s Requiem at Music Hall, and we needed to leave early since there was another concert at nearby TQL (soccer) stadium, which started earlier than ours, so getting down there could take longer, and parking would be hard to come by. As it turned out the drive had a few slow spots but wasn’t too bad, and we found street parking 2-3:blocks away, so we got there in plenty of time. While we were having a drink before the concert, R saw someone he knew, and we started talking to them, and we discovered from them, the stadium concert had been cancelled due to the threat of severe weather! I think there must have been a lot of frustrated stadium concert goers as the severe weather didn’t materialize downtown, since we were on the edge of the storm. As we drove north we did run into some heavier run, and quite a lot of sheet lightening, but nothing too serious.
