Denny Ship Model Museum

We packed up camp this morning, and headed to the Denny Ship Model Museum in Dumbarton.  It was a great fun wee place.  They have a large tank for testimg ship models for efficiency, stability and vibration, used at the peak of Clyde shipbuilding.  There is lots on display, including both the technical and social history of the site.  CyclopsJnr tested different hull forms in a mini tank, as well as making an origami boat and a stained glaa lighthouse.

We had planned to visit Dumbarton Castle after lunch, bit it was closed at short notice for maintenance.

We stopped off at the RSPB reserve on Loch Lomond for a little walk instead.  The highlight was spotting a tree recently chewed and felled by a beaver!

Then home to unpack and chill out after a busy couple of days.
