Paddling off
I had an early Physio appointment down town this morning so went along to the North Pier afterwards to see the Waverley which had docked here overnight. She’s the last ocean-going paddle steamer in the world and it’s fifty years since she was rescued and restored. I was too early - she was still loading, so I went home and then walked along to McCaig’s Tower to watch her leaving the pier and setting off on the next part of her journey. My Blip today.
As she rounded the point and headed up the Sound the tug Thunderer pumped out two wings of water - this was to mark the 50 years since the Waverley had been rescued and restored. Unfortunately the Coruisk got in the way and rather spoilt the moment - today’s extra.
Tried out my new battery-powered blower this afternoon - a bargain when Homebase closed down. Works very well - reasonably quiet and still powerful enough to shift the leaves. Going to be a regular job in the garden now.
Got the seats out and we sat on the deck with cuppas and books. Unfortunately the sun went in and it became quite chilly so we came back inside. Now of course the sun is shining from a clear blue sky!
