a fond farewell now

When breakfast is done, we'll be on our way back to the ferry in Victoria and onto the mainland this afternoon. We hope to have dinner with my brother once again this evening. 

It was lovely to catch some sun in the sky and the town treated to a bit of sunshine before the next rainclouds came over. I'm still trying to imagine what Port Renfrew looked like when my parents lived here in the 40s. Heat for houses would have been wood-burning stoves. Every home would have had a chimney spouting smoke....I can see that wood smoke drifting out over the roof tops....
