Now, as I see it......

Railway Cottage

It's a bit of a stretch to tag this for the Wide Wednesday challenge of 'architecture' because I don't suppose an architect has been anywhere near it.  A coachbuilder, more likely.

This is an example of a 'railway cottage' which can be visited at Holt station.  Railway cottages were once common in East Anglia especially after the end of the First World War when redundant carriage bodies were sold to provide a cheap housing solution.  Very few exist nowadays and this one has been restored to how it might have looked in 1935.  It is fascinating to visit but largely missed by many people who ride on the railway due to its position on the site, although there is a plan to move it to a better location nearer the platforms and museum and further develop the site for tourists and visitors.

I happened to be passing the station on my way up to the local shop and nipped in to get this shot.  While I was there the 4pm train arrived, so I couldn't resist adding a shot of the engine as an extra.
