A fond farewell...
Alas our week of adventures with P has come to an end and after breakfast we took her to Glasgow Airport to catch her flight to Iceland then onward to Boston.
We bid her a fond farewell with the reassuring thought that we are looking forward to seeing her again next year when we spend a week together in Oban. Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey P. Thank you for a wonderful week :-)
From the airport we headed to Ikea to buy large plants for the pool area. We've been talking about doing this for seven years! Never good to rush into things! LOL
Once home we spent some time in the garden and I finished planting up the last of the pots that I had started doing before P arrived. I then spent a little while going round the garden dead-heading where necessary and enjoying the scent of the honeysuckle, even though it's now past its best. Some pics in extras so I can see what was flowering when in future years,
D went to play golf with pal Fraser at 5pm but returned after 11 holes as the course was really busy and very slow.
I crocheted some more of baby Alfie's pram blanket. We will meet him for the first time on Tuesday when his mum and Dad come for lunch. Can't wait to have a wee cuddle.
Last day of sunshine tomorrow with rain forecast to start tomorrow night. The garden certainly needs it but after three weeks of lovely weather it's going to be hard to accept the change.
PS Alan was out when we got back from the airport. When he returned home later I went to chat to him and he looked past me. I asked him if he was looking for P and he indicated yes (he smiles for yes) I reminded him that P was going home today and we'd taken her to the airport. He got all annoyed. I asked him if P should come back soon and got a resounding YES! His smile to confirm this in extras :-)
PPS Today would have been my Gran's 107th birthday! Miss her every single day.
