End of the dry spell
I really can't remember how long it is since there was any appreciable rain. Weeks of warm, sometimes hot, sunny weather have hurried on the spring flowers and most have wilted. It all came to an end overnight with a good soaking. The garden will be thrilled. Enjoyable though it's been it isn't right for us to have such hot weather in May.
It's just a shame that the rain has come now. I'm off to sell second hand tack, jodhpurs and other horse related stuff which has been donated to the riding project. I did this last year in torrential rain and I'm hoping that it will be a bit more of a gentle drizzle today.
I'm pretty hopeless at this task because I don't have the required technical knowledge. If someone asks me the size of a saddle or length of reins all I can say is "big?" or "long?" Fortunately there will be more clued up people working with me. It's the taking part that counts, or so I tell myself.
I'll be out for hours so it's an early blip from me of raindrops on a battered iris in the back garden.
