Wound up in Wexford

Waiting for the nod

In the morning, we watched Shirley and Stanley feeding (first extra) - who was looking after the kids?

Then the HFC band had a gig in Kilmore Quay this afternoon, supporting the Connections Festival.  Sadly, the glorious sunny weather of the last few weeks broke today.  It wasn't quite raining when I took this photo, but it had rained on us as we drove there, and by the time we finished, 30 minutes later, it was definitely raining.  And very windy - pegs essential for the music.

We had been asked to play for the "swim".  We played a couple of pieces before 1400, when the swim was due to happen, and I took this photo as we waited for the nod from the beach below us - they had requested a specific piece of music, "ABBA Gold", for the warm up.  2nd extra taken by W.

After that we played several more numbers, packing up at 1430, just as it really started to rain.  We had thought of visiting some of the other attractions at the festival, then having a fish and chip supper but I'm afraid we chickened out, went to the supermarket, then home in time for W to make us a pizza for dinner.
