I'm hoping that the
forecast is incorrect so
I don't melt today!

I was on my way to McArthur Island Park just before 7:30. I'm very low on energy and my cranky feet aren't up to much these days.

I stopped by the Butterfly Garden to track some Canada geese and goslings around the area.  One stalwart pair has only one offspring to tend, while another has a brood of 19. As always, they are fascinating to watch.

I found peonies and poppies in full bloom, then moved on to the footbridge for shots of the slough and my mountains.

I spotted a single doe under the overhang of trees taking a drink from the slough. I got my one shot, then she saw me on the bridge and she slipped away into the shadows.

The marmots on the south side of the park were running their own circus this morning. There are so many young ones scampering about, it was very difficult to get a decent shot. I gave up in frustration.

I was home with my breakfast by 8:30. I have an appointment downtown this afternoon so I can only hope the temperature forecast does not hold true.
