The beholder's eye

Large white

Not much around today with the rain and nasty weather on it's way.
I went out mid morning for a while and luckily just for a few seconds the sun came out and suddenly (as if a switch had been flicked) there were several butterflies flitting around!
Among these was this beautiful Large white Pieris brassicae, which along with the small white is often misnamed Cabbage white.
This one was intent on catching up on a bit of nectaring before the rain came, and when I put the image up on the laptop I was surprised to see the proboscis was bicoloured - you learn something new every day it seems!
Thank you for dropping by, I hope you are all having a grand weekend!
