In the cool woodland

I don't think I've ever seen a Long Tailed Tit at this time of year. Generally a bird of the cooler seasons, and far pinker than here. Still, my expert bird identifier (sigh, Google does still have some value) says it's a LTT.

It is astonishingly hot out there again; about 26ºC and higher to come this afternoon. I wonder, if this is the new norm, what will cope and what will fail into the future... plants, trees, mammals, humans... even the fish pond has gained an unusual scum on the surface.

The BBC ran a story about water scarcity yesterday, but entirely failed to note the water consumption of AI data centres.

We are all doomed.
