I Witness

By KangaZu

Ruby-throated ...

... hummingbird.

Thankfully, we have been seeing our resident hummingbird (I've only seen one at a time so far) more frequently.  Today we saw her multiple times on the bee balm that has recently started flowering.  I've added a shot of her on said bee balm into Extras.  I couldn't decide which photo I liked best.  The one in Extras isn't in focus as I would have liked.  (I'm tagging the Extra for Flower Friday.  Thanks to Anni for hosting.)

I believe this hummer to be female but she could very well also be a juvenile male.  Is there a slight 5 o'clock shadow to indicate a juvenile male?  That's anyone's guess.  Please have a look full screen.

In other news:  Even though it was quite overcast and markedly colder than it's been lately we managed to get out for a lovely walk at Louise Moore County park after lunch.  And we just managed to miss a light rain shower that happened on the drive home.
