A view from Jeanneb

One little duck

Made it for the early walk, no ill effects from the double gin last night but I slept well! Thank you all for your lovely birthday greetings.

Almost a full compliment of walkers today and a glorious morning for it, sunny but not too hot.

Stopped to feed the ducks at Coppice Pond, no sign of the swans and spotted this single duckling. It is the first and only duckling any of us have seen on the pond this year and therefore worthy of a blip I felt. Obviously not a new one so I don’t know where it’s been but well done mummy duck for getting it so far.

Yesterday walking around the lake at Nostell we had to take great care where we stepped as there were lots of tiny froglets on the move. No sign of any here yet.

As we walked the pond circuit we did spot the swans at the other end and three of us stopped to feed them. Dad was coming out onto the pond edge so we backed off again but he wasn’t too aggressive. The cygnets are all there huge and ugly!

Spent the rest if the morning  gardening and am now thoroughly  nettled! I had to stay within sight of the drive whilst in the back garden as I missed a parcel special delivery yesterday and they were coming again with it today.
I let Grace know I had got it and she sent me some more pictures of her and Jude having milk shakes and then remembered some from the girls swimming class of Monday
Extra. Eda seems to have been going swimming for ages and I’m delighted that she’s now gained a medal for swimming 10m on her own. Jude has only been going to classes for a year and she’s got a medal for swimming 5m aided which I think is great and she looks very pleased about!
Well done girls!

Off to the cinema soon
