Silly Saturday

We took Son#2 and his partner to the local Gosforth Nature Reserve this morning and had a super time. I've chosen this "bum shot" as my main blip as it's a hosted Silly Saturday (kindly hosted this weekend by Laurie54 this weekend in memory of Admirer): this silly bird wouldn't turn round for its photo but silly me went ahead and took it anyway.

I've added a couple of extras - as we sat in one of the hides a 4-Spotted Chaser Dragonfly (aka 4-Spotted Skimmer in the USA) settled on a broken reed. It was quite far away but fortunately I had on my 300mm lens and 2x teleconverter (full-frame equivalent 1200mm) and I was able to get some photos of it. As you can see it had some defects in one of its wings but it still looked nice in the sunshine.

The second extra is a rather cute Little Grebe about to enter the water.
