Sunny Butterfly

Spotted on my walk this morning- another early one, there was a refreshingly cool breeze blowing. I believe that this is a Silver Washed Fritillary. Quite fabulous markings.

The wheat field that featured in my blip with the combine harvester header the other day has now been completely cleared, including the straw.

I also saw that four fields of barley have been harvested too. Still a lot of cereal fields to harvest.

Added an extra today - another insect on some ragwort. They do make fab macro subjects, even if no one likes them!
