Local nature

I took a pic of a hideous Dark Giant Horsefly resting on my windowsill at home. To be honest it's so hideous I can't leave it on the monitor while I'm writing this. However from a macro point of view it's one of my better efforts. It's the second extra if you do feel the urge to look at it.
 On a happier note in the evening I visited Cliburn Nature reserve while Jess was at yoga in the village hall.  In the fresh cut grass I spotted 2 hares having a great time.  I needed a faster shutter but up until this point that had been quietly eating the cuttings, suddenly taking off. 1/500th didn't cut it.
