Unexpected
After a lovely sunny day yesterday we expected a poor day today. Walked up to church in drizzle but when I came out it was sunny and very warm again.
I’d done some washing first thing and hung it on the airer inside so I promptly took the bigger items out to hang on the line. Dry now.
We still wanted to get mire plants for the bed Chris created at the back of the garden when he cut back the Laurel a couple of years ago. We’ve planted lots of bulbs but recently our visiting badgers have started using it as a latrine so we want to fill it as quickly as possibly with ground cover plants.
This time we went to New Coley just above the next village and found what we wanted. We didn’t get anything from these rows
but I couldn’t resist looking closer as these plants were full of bees and more butterflies than I’ve seen in our garden all summer ( excluding Large Whites). I only had my phone with me so nit great but couldn’t resist a snap. There are four, maybe five in this shot. Three Peacocks and a Red Admiral or possibly two!
A summer storm ‘Floris’ is said to be coming our way tomorrow across the Atlantic. Think we might be on the edge of it but it certainly looks as though it will have impact further north. Take care fellow blippers in that part of the world.
