Collegiate Church

Another pretty quiet day around the town, with work interspersed amongst some bitty activities. It was grey again this morning (and also is grey this evening), but in and amongst there was both some sunshine and a bit of rain. So something for everyone, I guess. In terms of blips, this is an addition to my small series on the doorways of Tain. St Duthus' Collegiate Church.

I only had one hastily arranged Teams meeting, and for the rest I tried to get on with my article, but made limited progress as I am a bit stuck and need to do a bit more reading to get things sorted out in my head. And the day was a bit too bitty to be conducive to reading, because I did pop out in the garden a fair number of times with Mr A for various reasons. We found a few more plants to put in the new real estate and Mr A put down some slabs and some gravel around the shed base to limit the amount of weeds coming through in the future. That meant a trip to the local garden centre for weed suppressant membrane and to the builders' merchants for gravel. We had the slabs already. Earlier on, we went for a sneaky bacon roll at Piper's before making a trip to the supermarket for various bits.

Now I'm trying to finish reading an interesting and slightly provocative article by a Czech academic whose work I really admire. I remember seeing his application for a doctoral scholarship from the AHRC when these things were decided by a panel, as he was applying to study at Oxford with SW. I was impressed by his application then (20 years ago, I guess), and I'm very impressed by his work now.
