Bowood 2013 #24

After the previous week's footpath walk at Bowood I returned to the Grounds for this visit. It was the noisiest I have ever known it, groups of noisy children dotted around at every turn, even audible at the Doric Temple at the far end of the grounds, so it wasn't my most enjoyable visit. While I was at the temple I saw and heard some smaller gulls among the black-headed gulls and coots and grebes, wheeling above the lake with Bowood House behind them, which I think were common terns.

As usual, I began at Tractor Ted's Little Farm and noticed that the calves and sheep had gone, to make room for the extra space needed for the growing piglets, who were growing fast.

They were having a Big Machinery Weekend starting the following day and some items were already in place including a JCB Telehandler and a logger.
