I didn't know whether to do the HeartFreek September Challenge but after taking some photographs at church this morning, thought this collage would fit in with one of the words - SPECIAL.

All the people in this collage are SPECIAL - special friends of mine from Lawn Community Church and we are all linked by the common bond of loving Jesus.

You may already recognise in the top left my special friend, Elizabeth, and I was delighted to see her this morning as she has been very poorly in hospital for the last 3 week. She is much better now, so as we are having a series of services when we can take an active part, I spent my morning colouring with her. Everyone was pleased to see her and I think she was happy that I was sitting next to her.

Underneath her is another special friend, and one of our Church Elders, Karen, who has also been very ill, but is now on the road to recovery - we thank God that He is healing her and on Tuesday, I will be going to see her and we will doing some baking together and no doubt some chatting too!

We shared Communion together and our Minister, John, told us that whilst he had been in Eccles, they had shared an Eccles cake as their communion - a common symbol which became a sacrament - and today, as we live in Wiltshire, we shared not only bread but also a Wiltshire Lardy cake and wine. One of the friends on that photograph is receiving treatment at the moment, and we are continuing to pray that God will completely heal her.

It was a very special time and we were encouraged to talk together whilst we shared our Communion.

I pray a blessing on all who are returning to school and college - and those returning home after the holidays - and hope you all have a great week.

…..you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s SPECIAL possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
