Floyd of Allendale

The road to the BUPA Great North Run 2013 began, well, on the road.

With a long weekend booked off in advance for the both of us, we set off up North, in search of glory. It only took us a mere 8 or so hours, & the weather & traffic were atrocious in equal measure, but we made it just in time to meet Jane & Ian at the King's Headfor an obligatory & yes tactical, gin & tonic (we've heard tonic is good for preventing cramping, & so really it was a must in our final preparations for the run on Sunday).

After the pub we returned for Mummy C's homemade goulash & rice - ooh, lovely carbs! Floyd, as ever the affectionate fellow, was there to greet us, & was even more the amiable chap when leftovers were dished out! Bailey, his younger compatriot, a little poorly of late has been a bit more aloof, but still sweet.

If the urge takes you, please visit my JustGiving page. On Sunday I am running in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care & your support & encouraging words so far have been wonderful. Thank you.
